How to Use LuvLitters

For best results, simply layer one inch of Luvlitter in litter pan. Scoop and flush waste feces daily.

For Kats: LuvLitter is 245% more absorbent than the leading brand of cat litter. Because of its super absorbance, compared to traditional clay, less Luvlitter is needed in the box. Luvlitter is safe to use around flowers and shrubs and acts as natural mulch. Luvlitter is safe for declawed cats and kittens; it’s dustless and trackless too! When kats urinate, DO NOT TOUCH LITTER – DO NOT STIR, SMOOTH OR REMOVE DAMP LITTER.

For Birds: For birds kept with wire flooring above waste tray, remove tray and spread Luvlitter in ½ inch thickness along bottom of tray. Replace tray. Change litter as necessary. Note: Luvlitter provides a dry base which discourages mycobacterium development. Luvlitter is produced from a kiln-dried, chemical-free wood and contains nothing hazardous to health of companion birds. If ingested it will dissolve, not impact.

For Kritters:
REPTILES: Spread one inch deep layer along entire floor of cage. Luvlitter will keep floor dry and dehydrate animal waste. Long lasting. Change as necessary.
FERRETS: Spread Luvlitter in separate litter box for litter box trained pets. Change as needed.
RABBITS: For rabbits kept in cages with wire flooring above waste tray, spread Luvlitter in 1/2 inch thickness along entire bottom of tray. Change as necessary.
HAMSTERS AND GUINEA PIGS: Spread Luvlitter in 1/2 inch deep layer along floor of cage. Change as needed.
Note: This procedure should significantly reduce odor and frequency of changing litter.

How to transition your kat to luvlitters

Many kats go to this litter easily because of the smaller size particle and the much less intense pine smell. If you have tried large pellets and met with resistance, don’t feel that you will get the same reaction with Luvlitter.

The smaller particles provide much more surface area allowing the litter to immediately absorb the urine and keep it on top where it evaporates-thereby keeping the litter box dry and much more desirable for kats and you.

While many kats readily accept Luvlitters, those who use a fine textured clumping litter often need a simple transition procedure to help them adjust to the smell and texture of Luvlitters.

With first use, we recommend that you place a double handful of LuvLitter in your empty litter box. Then fill with your regular litter to the normal depth. Do not mix.

The next time you change the litter, put 1 inch in the litter box and then fill to the normal depth with your litter. Do not mix.

Continue to put your old litter on top of the 1 inch of LuvLitter until you feel your kat is familiar with the new texture. Never put more than 1 inch of LuvLitter in the litter box.
